Research Assistant II Req Number: mons-00009277 Location(s): Haskell TX Responsibilities: Monsanto is searching for a Research Assistant to support its Cotton Breeding program located in Haskell, TX. This individual will serve as a critical member of the field breeding research team by taking accountability for the following responsibilities: Major Responsibilities: * Assist the cotton breeder in the active functions of a plant breeding program. Duties include seed processing and packaging, seed storage management, along with planting and harvest of selection populations, progeny rows, boll samples and seed increases. Harvest with a mechanical picker or stripper as well as hand harvest is required. . * Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting. Duties include such activities as collecting data for PVP, plant phenotypic ratings, assisting with data analysis as assigned, and actively participate in safety meetings and reviews. Initiative in suggestions and resourcefulness is highly desired.
